Winning the lottery is a dream for many, but for a British millionaire, this achievement brought more challenges than he anticipated. In an interview with the newspaper, the winner, who prefers to remain anonymous, revealed that the initial joy of winning millions quickly turned into stress and family conflicts.
As soon as he received the prize, he followed what many would consider a sensible path: he bought property, invested a significant portion of the money, and gifted his mother and sister £2 million each. However, these gestures were not enough to meet their expectations. "My mother and sister believe I am being selfish for not giving them more. They want a beach house for the family, in addition to the money I've already given, but frankly, we don't want to do that," he confessed.
The millionaire also shared how distant relatives, with whom he had not been in contact for years, suddenly appeared after learning of his fortune. "I don't want to continue feeling like the family's ATM. It's painful to be called stingy. Moreover, they expect me to pay for all the dinners. I don't understand why making money makes people treat you this way," he lamented.
Facing the stress, the winner hired a financial advisor to manage his assets. He now lives off the interest from a high-yield savings account, intending to preserve the capital for his future children. Although grateful for his luck, he admits that the wealth brought unexpected complications, changing the dynamics of his personal relationships and creating a constant pressure he did not foresee.
