Those hoping to compete for a chance to become a millionaire must place their bets by 7 PM (Brasília time) on the day of the draw, selecting 6 to 20 numbers out of the 60 available on the bet slip. You can also let the system choose the numbers for you (Surpresinha) and/or play with the same numbers for 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, or 12 consecutive draws (Teimosinha).
What are the odds of winning the Mega-Sena grand prize?
Each 6-number game costs R$ 5.00. The chance of matching all six numbers with a simple game is 1 in 50,063,860. However, Mega-Sena allows you to select up to 20 numbers, with this bet costing over R$ 193,000 but improving the odds to 1 in 1,292.
For prize redemption, players may go to an authorized lottery retailer or a Caixa agency. Prizes over R$ 2,259.20 can only be claimed at the bank upon presentation of an ID, CPF, and betting receipt.
