The +Millionaire lottery, launched in May 2022, has not yet recorded any winners in the top prize. The odds of winning in this game are even smaller than in Mega-Sena, with the probability of a bettor hitting this category being one in 238,360,500 with a simple game costing R$6.
In light of this, Federal Congresswoman Julia Zanatta (PL-SC) has requested information from the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, regarding this type of lottery. To win the top prize, a player must select six numbers from the range of 1 to 50 and two clovers from the range of 1 to 6.
Those who manage to match all eight numbers are entitled to a prize of R$10 million, regardless of the amount collected in the drawing. In addition to the top prize, +Millionaire offers ten more prize categories, being the only lottery to provide this many prizes.
Out of these ten categories, only two have not yet had any winners. According to information from Caixa, the highest prize awarded by +Millionaire so far was R$124,977.51, distributed among three bets that matched five numbers and two clovers.
In her request sent to Haddad, the congresswoman raises the possibility that this type of lottery may be ineffective, as it involves a combination of numbers and "clovers," questioning why no bettor has won the top prize. She suggests changing the rules of the lottery, as well as increasing the ticket price or the frequency of drawings. Currently, +Millionaire drawings take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
