Caixa Announces Return of the Scratch-off: Instant Lottery Returns in November
The "Instant Lottery," the official version of the popular Scratch-off, will be available again starting November 2, with prizes up to R$ 2 million.

Caixa Econômica Federal announced the relaunch of the instant lottery, "Instant Lottery" popularly known as Scratch-off, starting from November 2. The product had been withdrawn from the market in 2016 when the government chose to privatize the sector. However, the privatization attempt did not achieve the expected success, leading the government to authorize Caixa to regain control of sales last year.
The Instant Lottery tickets will be priced from R$ 2.50 to R$ 20.00 with prizes that can reach up to R$ 2 million. According to Luciola Aor, president of Caixa Lotteries, the game will have the highest payout among the lotteries offered by Caixa, with 65% of the ticket value being distributed as prizes.
The president of Caixa, Carlos Vieira, explained that the relaunch of the product was a demand from the lottery network, and now the tickets will be available both in physical stores and the bank's digital channels. "We expect an annual revenue of about R$ 1.5 billion,” said Vieira.
Expansion in the Betting Sector
In addition to the relaunch of the Scratch-off, Caixa is preparing to launch its own online sports betting platform, "bet." The bank is awaiting approval from the Ministry of Finance to initiate the service, promising stringent consumer protection measures.
This move comes amid concerns about the impact of online betting on family budgets, especially among Bolsa Família beneficiaries. Caixa assures that it will comply with all legal regulations to operate the new service responsibly.
